I wasn't expecting to stay for an hour-long webinar on gemstones, yet here I am at the end! The power of pretty shinies, perfect pacing, and incredibly easy-to-understand explanations/diagrams/examples compels me! 😍🙇🏿♀️

More Julia! 🎉❤ more gemstone knowledge!
Basic skills, expert explanation. 🎉❤
Ah! I didn't know you did tutorials on equipment too! Best gemstone educator around!! 🎉❤
You are a gem. A fantastic educator! 🎉❤ gotta come take a few of your classes.
🎉❤🎉 the best gemology educator!
It was the minerals exhibit in the dark room with the black light that still drives my interest in gemstones, real or synthetic, that change colors under different types of light, from Alexandrite to Zultanite. I make fashion jewelry as well as fine jewelry.
Will glass filled or Flux healed Ruby still shown as Ruby under the Gem Tester II? Thx
I am very grateful this popped up in my feed today! I buy my sapphires from a company in Thailand and when i was looking for my first Padparadscha sapphire, i was following a definition from a gemologist that the intensity should be light to medium. The BE Heated stones were very intense and they were all exactly the same color. They looked fake, or too good to be true, to me, so i chose one with just basic heating. I am now glad i did.
Why is it called star of Ruby India. Is it generated from India?
I learned a lot! Thank you so very much!
Julia, I am jealous. My husband just simply loves everything about you from your hair and voice to your knowledge about this stuff.
Thank you for your lecture on this subject. I would like to be able to do this at home. lol
I like man made stones and frequently buy them instead of more expensive all natural stones. I only care about how the gem presents, Of course now, after watching this, I will suspect all Jewelers . thanks
How much
Wow ur amazing very clear. Thank you so much
Ma'am, if you want to buy books, how to buy? 🚩🇮🇳🙏
❤Thunkyou very much.
Thanks 🙏 presentation👌great work 😊🎉
Thanks 👍
I had to chuckle when she felt the need to correct herself just for using the term "Man."
Tiger Eye can also be red and magnetic due to the presence of iron.
The distinction between natural and synthetic gems primarily hinges on perceptions of value that are somewhat illusory. A high-quality lab-grown ruby, for instance, created using the flux method, will typically surpass its natural counterpart in terms of crystal symmetry, color consistency, and the absence of structurally significant inclusions. Conversely, it is unlikely for anyone to admire a natural ruby with a large feather that breaks the surface of the table and express appreciation for what they might perceive as a charming flaw. These imperfections are not delightful natural signatures; they are defects, and aficionados of jewelry should not have to tolerate them. In this context, the valuation of natural gems is upheld in a manner akin to cryptocurrency. Once a critical mass of individuals comes to recognize that the advantages of synthetic gems outweigh those of natural ones in every aspect except for a fortuitous perception of rarity, the value of natural gems could plummet, akin to any investment predicated on erroneous beliefs. The fur market serves as an apt illustration of this phenomenon.

I'm sorry. Does Casio still produce watches?
I would like additional information. Gem mining most of the ruby fracture needs to be filled with glass or other compounds to facilitate grinding. Glass that can be filled with ruby divided according to chemical composition, there are several types as follows: 1. Soda-lime glass 2. Borosilicate glass 3. Lead glass or crystal glass This type of glass has more than 24% lead oxide and has a high refractive index. 4. Opal glass 5. Aluminosilicate glass 6.Alkaline-Earth Alumino silicate 7. Glass-Ceramics 8. Crown glass 9. Flint glass 10. Bismuth glass Because lead glass has good optical properties but is not durable and can dissolve in water, acids, and alkalis when used for a long time. Therefore, choose to buy gemstones that do not contain lead glass and bismuth glass. Other types of glass the quality of gems will be different, such as bismuth glass. However, when purchasing gemstones, you should choose the type that does not contain glass contaminants. and be inspected with an X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) machine only because it can determine the amount of lead in percent. To consider the appropriate purchase price
You are amazing. This video is so informative. Thanks a lot. I have become a fan.
Thanks
I have a stone that rings with a tester can't tell it's a very clean rack.
Very very good chanal
As always, amazingly clear and precise. Thank you for this great resource!
I love this video! So informative the instructor is very engaging. The section on Garnet is everything! 💯
Oyata godaak thanks
It's a great video
Wow your videos is very help fully 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for such an interesting and educational video about gemology❤
So the bullseye proves it's quartz crystal but not necessarily citrine? How do you prove a stone is citrine when the whole damn family of a half dozen quartz crystals has the same refractive index? Colour can't be relied upon.
Thank you Julia for uploading it on UA-cam!
The maps and diagrams are too small to serve any purpose,I'm viewing on a smartphone, the text is way too smal to read.😮😢bye.
Plz give me you contact details otherwise fb or any id plz
Good Lesson Thank you madem
Very interesting as I have been cutting some Burmese rubies, the rough stones have an almost glazed appearance on the surface and do not exhibit the sharp fracture edges normally encountered with corundum. At the pre-polish stage of the gem, I encounter small pockets like opened bubbles and I have to polish through these if I can, at final polish tiny white lines, like fracture lines are all over the stones which are very difficult to polish out and the finish gem still retains these fine white lines. The gems are finishing at 1ct or above and present very well with beautiful colour and lustre. As a cutter, I'm frustrated and disappointed with these white lines that track across the stone, mostly invisible without a 10X loop, but depending on the angle can sometimes be visible. I would appreciate your input on this issue. Thanks.
Does it glow under UV? Led glass filled ruby?
